Mission Statement:
To host non-denominational
Bible studies and events for women,
18 years and up, living in Dickinson
and the surrounding areas.
Our heart is to see women become rooted in Christ, allowing God's Word to equip them to love, learn and lead.
What We Believe:
The Bible
We believe the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, to be the only inspired, inerrant, infallible, authoritative Word of God written.
The Trinity
We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ
We believe in the deity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood and for the forgiveness of our sins. We also believe in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
Answering the Call:
In the fall of 2021, the Holy Spirit began stirring something in a woman’s heart that she longed for, time and time again as she drove along the same road that overlooked Dickinson. As the town came into view, she could see the city and that longing was the desire for women to open their Bibles and learn Who God is. The prayer quickly became clear that Dickinson and the surrounding area had the need for a nondenominational Bible study for women.
With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, she reached out to three friends - women who also loved the Lord and had hearts to serve Him. Together, they formed a leadership team with each woman bringing unique insights and spiritual gifts to the table—each passionate about sharing Jesus Christ as Savior and King. And so, the vision for The Gathering Place was born.
God opened doors to provide places to share Jesus, study His Word, and grow in fellowship. He brought forth equipped small group leaders to meet the needs of the diverse groups of women attending Bible studies. He provided connections with speakers who boldly share their personal testimonies of our great God.
What started as one woman’s calling has become a collective mission. The studies and gatherings grow as women invite their friends, neighbors, and coworkers. Some women come seeking spiritual growth; others come looking for friendship and encouragement. Many come hungry for both. Regardless of their reasons, all who enter the doors find something special—a place where women aren’t set apart by denominational differences, but are bound by a shared love for God. In the end, it isn’t about the number of women in attendance, it’s about the transformation that happens within each woman—the deepening of her personal relationship with God and His Word, and the love He has for each as His daughter.
As we continue to lean into Jesus, The Gathering Place remains committed to the simple yet profound truth that brought us together in the first place: when we listen to the Holy Spirit’s call, amazing things happen.
